Hi, hey, hello!
I would just like to share with you all how thankful I am that we have the opportunities we do at Meadowbrook Intermediate. In morning meetings every day, Mrs. Wilks always shares what Meadowbrook is doing to help the communities around us and it inspires me as a musician every day to figure out what we can do to also share some joy and love around during this Christmas season!
One of the ways we share joy and love with music is during our Christmas Program on Monday, December 18th. Call time for band students will be 6:15pm, with the program starting at 7pm. The band will start the program off with a bang, performing Hot Cross Buns, Merrily We Roll Along, Good King Wenceslas, Jolly Old St. Nicholas, and Jingle Bells. I'm asking students to wear nice clothes, Christmas colors if possible and the only things they need to bring to CM that night is their instrument and music. We will be using the music stands at CM.
While I have enjoyed having every student in band throughout the semester and would hope that they stay in band for the next eight years, I also know that sometimes band isn't for everyone. If your child is starting to decide that band isn't right for them, they will have an opportunity to drop band before the spring semester begins. If you know that your child would like to drop band in January, please let me know and I'll make sure to take them off of the band PowerSchool. If they decide to stay in band (fingers crossed!), they will be in it until the end of the school year and I will communicate about moving on to band at Trimpe later on in the year.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please let me know!
Musically yours --
