Since it is spring break, I will NOT be sending out a weekly update this week, but I do want to take a second and mention a few things. I hope those of you that went enjoyed Nashville! When you really look at all that we experienced, it was a fully packed trip! Shopping on historic Broadway and the Opry Mills Malls (boots and hats, any one?), visiting and touring the Country Music Hall of Fame, RCA Studio B, The Parthenon, Lane Motor Museum, Andrew Jackson's Hermitage House, listening to country greats at the Grand Ole Opry, and recording at the historic RCA Studio B... Some of those experiences truly were once in a lifetime! I want to thank the students for their wonderful behavior. I was quite proud to be a CM Eagle by the way you all acted and represented our school. I received NO complaints about our students throughout the weekend and I'm not surprised. We have some wonderful students at CM! I also want to thank Charles for joining us on our trip. His help was indescribable. A shout out to John, our tour guide, and our fabulous bus driver, Charla, as well. And most importantly, thank you to the parents who joined us on the trip: Melanie Thomas, Shelly Moore, Megan Zimmerman, Jennifer Gould, Lesa Stillwell, Ann Lesemann, Linda Schillinger, Sarah Crockett, Jeff Fromme, Carol Hornsey, Brandi Howard, and Debbie Deardeuff. Trips like this are made possible by your willingness to chaperone our students and you all were quite enjoyable to have along the ride! Enjoy your spring break - relax, rest up, regain some energy and let's end our school year on a music note! :) See what I did there? Musically yours -- Michaela Davis Hello, hello, hello!
April is here! I couldn't be more excited. For those of you going to Nashville, you can find the video link to the meeting we had Thursday night at the following link: Movie on 3-30-17 at 7.06 PM.mov Emily Pipkin recorded it and it is shared only with those who have a Bethalto CUSD email address, so please have your child log in to their Google Account and you can access the video that way. During class on Monday, I will also be handing those who missed the meeting their booklet of information as well as a Music Travel bag that they can use on the trip. I have asked students and chaperones that we try to wear as much CMHS gear as possible. I will be picking up the Nashville shirts at some point this week and will hand those out either during class or after school - please plan on wearing this shirt on Sunday. I'll send out a Remind at some point this week. We leave at 5am on Friday, so I'll actually see you at 4:45am. Bright and early, but hey - you get to sleep on the bus on the way there! If you are planning on leaving your car at the high school Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, please plan on parking in the technology parking lot - not the student lot numbers and not the teacher's parking lots.
