Miss Michaela Davis Hi, hey, hello! My name is Michaela Davis. I'm the band director at Civic Memorial High School and Wilbur Trimpe Middle School.
I grew up in Troy, Illinois and attended Triad High School. After graduating in 2011, I attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for my undergraduate degree in Music Education. While at SIUE, I played clarinet in many of their ensembles: Wind Symphony, Concert Band, Orchestra, and various small wind ensembles. Throughout my college career, I taught color guard and woodwinds at various high schools around the area including Highland High School, Triad High School, Granite City High School, and Seckman High School. I was also a founding member of Avidity Independent Winter Guard and marched with them from 2011-2013. Currently, I choreograph for various color guards in the Metro-East area, as well as adjudicate throughout the fall and winter seasons. I am currently working on my masters in music education. This is my sixth year teaching in the Bethalto School District! My colleagues and students make this career so rewarding and I definitely follow the adage that "If you enjoy what you do, you won't work a day in your life." Other quotes that I love and appreciate on a daily basis: "Outside, GO!" "To be on time is to be late. To be early is to be on time." "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard." "Don't be a fool." |
