Hi, hey, hello!
I wanted to give everyone a pep band update leading into tomorrow evening (our first pep band game of the season)! The pep band dates can be found attached to this email, as well as on the calendar HERE. The schedule for all pep band games EXCEPT senior night games (dates TBD) will be as follows: Call Time: 5:30 OR 6 (for the first few games, it'll be 5:30pm until we get into a routine) - The band will warm-up in the auditorium then move to the main gym - Students will have halftime of the JV game and third quarter to eat, talk with friends, etc. - Students should return to the band at 4th quarter of the game. - Following the JV game, the band will play School Song and then stand tunes. - Before the Varsity game, the band will play School Song and the National Anthem. - After the Varsity game starts, the band is dismissed. The students will put away all of their equipment, and then go home! Typically, the varsity game starts around 7. I anticipate students being picked up around 7:15pm. They are more than encouraged to stay for the game itself if they choose to do so! The only exception to this full schedule is the senior night games where the band will stay the entire varsity game. The dates of these will be shared out at a later time, but they will be in February. Dress for pep band games is the band polo, with the jacket being optional. If your child has a conflict with any pep band dates, the expectation is that communication from a parent/guardian is received. This will excuse your child from the event and it will be put into PowerSchool as an exempted grade (there will be no make-up assignment for a missed pep band game). All it takes is an email with a valid reason as to why your child won't be there. Lack of communication in a timely manner (24 hours after the game) will result in a zero. If your child has another school sanctioned activity/event, all they need to do is tell me. For instance, Sally sends me an email saying she has a bolwing match during the pep band game. This is an excused absence - Sally communicated why she won't be there. Students should NOT assume that I know. Communicate to ENSURE that I know! This is a life skill! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me! Musically yours -- Michaela Davis
