Hi, hey, hello!
There's only one new piece of information on this week's update, but please make sure to read the ENTIRE update so you're prepared and in the know! :) Football Schedule While we are unsure as to what the band's participation is for the football games in the spring, please put the following dates in your schedule for band and avoid scheduling events on these dates. Typically, call time for the event is 5pm with dismissal around 9pm. - Friday, March 12 (Football vs. Triad) - Friday, March 19 (Football vs. Waterloo) - Friday, April 2 (Football vs. Jerseyville) - Friday, April 16 (Football vs. Collinsville) Yard Signs & Decals These should be delivered this week. I plan on sending them home with your student. Grading & Remote Assignments All assignments from Friday-Thursday will be due on Thursday by 11:59pm. I'm hoping this gives you a little bit of flexibility during your school week as we continue to navigate the hybrid schedule together. I also wanted to touch base on late work: I will accept ALL late work with no penalty every quarter. Again, flexibility is the name of the game this year. That being said, I want to make sure you're clear of the following: 1. If you turn in an assignment late, I will grade it and update grades whenever I can. This might mean that the grade isn't updated instantly. That's the cost of turning in late work. 2. Work due in one quarter, but turned in after the quarter, will not be accepted. While giving you all this opportunity, I also want to encourage you to ALWAYS turn in your work on time. While each teacher is different in this, when you enter the adult life, due dates aren't recommendations, they are requirements. If you're late on a bill payment, the consequence is a late fee. If you continue to be late, the consequence could be your power being shut off, phone being disconnected, etc. I'm being flexible because I care about you all, but the person in charge of your phone bill will not feel the same way. Sight Reading Factory - $2 If you haven't paid this $2, please do so this week. I'm missing this from a few individuals. If you cannot pay this fee this week, please send me an email letting me know. Percussion Rehearsal Times L-Z students will always have percussion rehearsal from 3-4:30pm and A-K students will always have percussion rehearsal from 5-6:30pm on Thursdays. Consider this change permanent! Fall Concert Our fall concert is currently scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 7pm. While my hope is that this concert is held in-person with a live audience, I will let you know the exact plan as we get closer to this date. --- What do I need in class this week? 1.
